The 25 acres adjoining my property, in Dunsmuir, is going on the market. Our property (1.5 acres) used to be part of it.
There's a house with a more-than-full basement, and sleeping accommodations for 6 - 8 people.
One basement room could be used for root cellar as well as food processing: salad greens.
The property is sourced for irrigation by a spring - gravity fed, with a 3000 gallon redwood storage tank.
Property is terraced with rock walls, has many specimen trees and dshrubss from former owner, a botanist, pre-1940.
Fir desert comprises uppermost portion of property, otherwise mixed forest of deciduous and evergreen. Upper portions would lend themselves well to water storage (ponds along the lines of Sepp Holzer).
Many possibilities for sustainable living center/intentional community/organic gardens, etc.
Asking price is $350K.

I'm wondering if there might be any interest out there in finding a way to purchase this property as a group and working it for education, food production, sustainable living.
